ETHICAL GUIDELINES
Professional conduct
- I hold the content of the relationship with my clients as confidential. Even the names of my clients are confidential unless they permit me to mention or use their name.
- I do not break the law for my clients.
- Although confidentiality is a cornerstone of the coaching relationship, I uphold the right to provide information, originally given in confidence, if it is demanded by legal, medical or similar means to the necessary authorities.
- I do not guarantee results. The philosophy of coaching is to
- Discover, clarify and align with what the client wants to achieve.
- Encourage client self-discovery.
- Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies.
- Hold the client responsible and accountable.
- I will seek to avoid conflicts between my interests and the interests of my clients.
- When I enter into agreements with corporations, I regard its employees as my clients and respect their right to confidentiality.
- I do not work with clients I cannot champion and see their growing edge.
- Should I see that coaching is no longer appropriate for the client at specific times during a coaching contract due to changing circumstances, I commit to inform the client and either suspend or terminate the contract until circumstances alter to enable full benefit of the coaching relationship and process to flourish. By taking this action, it is in no way a negative reflection of the client or the effectiveness of coaching as a profession.

- I agree to promote the client’s agenda, to point the client toward fulfilment, balance and process, to forward their action and deepen their learning.
